White Wines for Red Wine Drinkers
There are some White Wines out there that can match some of their big Red counterparts in terms of power, structure and complexity.
There's more to Red Wine than just the grapes, and the best include a variety of winemaking techniques to give us these big, powerful, tasty and long-lived styles of wine that we enjoy so much.
The good news is that there are a number of winemakers out there that use some, or sometimes, even all of the techniques used in Red Winemaking to make some amazing White Wines that can stand up to thier Red counterparts.
In this tasting, we are going to sample our way through just some of these wines from all corners of the world. From well known, but big, creamy and toasty Chardonnay from USA to a Marsanne/Roussanne Blend from the Rhone Valley, to White Rioja from Spain, to that strange one they call Orange Wine (not made from oranges!), to name but a few.
These are wines that can match many reds, especially with food, and coming up to Christmas, can make a great alternative. So, if you are a Red Wine drinker, and not really into your White Wines, or looking for some alternatives to your Red Wines over Christmas, or if you aren't particularly a red wine drinker, but are looking for some bigger wines to go with food, this is an evening not to be passed by.
All tastings include; minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles.
This evening would make a great gift for the wine lover in your life, and can be booked as a gift voucher. Just book a place below and click on the 'send me a gift voucher' in the confirmation email you receive.
